The Spirit of Poverty : Blog Action Day 2008

Today is Blog Action Day - a day where thousands of bloggers around the world commit to write on the one topic in the hope of creating awareness around that issue. The topic this year is Poverty. For a lot of great resources on the topic of Poverty check out Learn About Poverty.

I think too often people forget to be thankful for even the “little” things in their lives - I know I’m guilty. thank you so much for sharing this GREAT movement.Today I promise to myself to donate minimum USD100 to poor family at my place. I will personally match every dollar donated by Bonoriau readers. Simply make a donation by clicking my donation button and Feel free to leave a comment about your donation as well or email to admin[@]bonoriau.com. All readers making donations will be recognized in a blog post. If you have a website or blog, I will link to it.

Pak Harfan in Laskar Pelangi Movie advice us to GIVE as much as we can and DON'T ever be receiver.

THANK YOU FOR THE DONATION : EmilaYusof, Anisa, Aimandeki , Shaxx

  3. Congrats Mariuca :)

Poverty could be reduced with a chance of education and a health care. Money is just a stepping stone towards it.

It's a nice effort Bono. That being said, I am not sure I am able to donate anything since I am still a student who financial matter entirely depending on my scholarship and my parent's monthly allowance. Hehe.. Pity me :D

  4. Oh dear I forgot this movement. I promise to participate but I haven't started any article yet. I hate it when my raging hormones attacked.
In fairness, I'm not guilty because I'm always aware of the needy and donate most of the time. Thanks for the visit Bono.

  5. Haziq don't worry about donation. Most important our participation. I also agree with you WE need to give them opportunity to change their poverty. Money is not the solution.

  18. i participated in today's post, not because we need an awareness of the topic...poverty is not some hidden problem hiding under a rock. people live this way everyday. people are being oppressed and taken advantage of and there is no justice...only golden parachutes.
